Apply for Foundation for Seacoast Health scholarship (New Hampshire & Maine) 

Since its inception, the Foundation for Seacoast Health has generously given over $2.2 million in scholarships, benefiting 320 individuals with over 660 awards.

Aligned with their mission to boost health and wellness in the Seacoast region, this scholarship is open to those pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate degree in a field related to health.

Consideration is given to academic achievement, workforce shortage areas on the Seacoast, job experience, community service, evidence of dedication to the chosen field of study, financial need, and your likelihood to return to the region to practice your profession.

Every year, scholarship winners are announced before June 30th. A special event is then organized by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees to celebrate the recipients, where they and their families are warmly welcomed.

Eligible Nursing Degrees:

  • Associate’s
  • BSN
  • Accelerated BSN
  • Entry Level Masters/Direct Entry MSN
  • MSN
  • DNP
  • PhD

Scholarship Amount:

The award is either $2,500 or $5,000.

Foundation for Seacoast Health scholarship Eligibility & Requirements:

  • You must be a current resident of one of the following communities:
    • New Hampshire– Portsmouth, North Hampton, Greenland, Rye, Newington, and New Castle; or
    • Maine– Kittery, Eliot, and York
  • You must be pursuing a health-related field of study as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited institution of learning.
  • To show your academic excellence, you can submit test scores (MCAT, GRE, GMAT, DAT, NLN, SAT, ACT) or GPA.
  • Submit statements of Support (supporting your choice of health-related field of studies, personal attributes, evidence of leadership, motivation, and maturity),
  • Employment Experience in a Health-related field.
  • Community Involvement (volunteerism and/or advocacy)
  • Personal Essay (Relation of essay topic to health studies or career choice)
  • Personal Goals (Evidence of commitment to the field of health and potential for return to serve foundation communities).
  • Choice of Career in Workforce Shortage Areas (as consideration is given to candidates who are pursuing a career in a workforce shortage area).
  • Financial Need.

Foundation for Seacoast Health Scholarship Payment Details:

  • Payment Schedule: The scholarship is paid in two parts during the academic year. The first half in August and the second by December 30.
  • Check Issuance: Checks are made out both to the student and the educational institution. Both must endorse it before cashing. Funds are only released once all requirements of the agreement are satisfied and signed.
  • Before Receiving Funds: Before getting any money, you need to provide proof of enrollment in an accredited school. You should be enrolled either part-time (at least 8 credits) or full-time and must confirm you’re studying in a health-related program.
  • End-of-Year Requirements: After the academic year concludes, you should give the Foundation your official school transcript and a breakdown of how the scholarship funds were spent.
