The ENA Foundation Scholarships are geared towards fostering excellence in emergency nursing. Annually, the foundation grants educational scholarships to support ENA members in their academic pursuits.
However, for non-members, the foundation offers only one undergraduate scholarship- the Elizabeth B. Moore Memorial Scholarship.
So, to qualify for more RN to BSN undergraduate scholarships, you simply need to become an ENA member. To do so, apply for membership online. Once you get your member ID, ensure you include it in your scholarship application.
Here, we will focus on ENA Foundation Scholarships for RN-BSN completion students.
Eligible Nursing Degrees:
- BSN- specifically RN-to-BSN
Scholarship Amount:
The amount is unspecified. The scholarship funds are specifically for tuition and related fees at your educational institution. The scholarship amount will be directly sent to the school listed on your application.
The selection of scholarship recipients is carried out by a committee, which assesses:
- Clarity and content of your educational and career aspirations.
- Professional involvement, like work activities.
- Community engagement, including civic activities.
- Leadership roles and involvement in ENA and/or other nursing associations.
- The quality and depth of your reference letters.
ENA Foundation Scholarships- RN to BSN Eligibility & Requirements:
- Applicants (with the exception of those specifically applying for the Elizabeth B. Moore Memorial Scholarship) must be a current ENA member in good standing.
- A minimum of a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA).
- You must be attending an ACEN or CCNE-accredited institution and must provide verification of the institution's current accreditation e.g., [https://ena.smapply.io/protected/resource/eyJoZnJlIjogOTcxNjIyODUsICJ2cSI6IDEyNTIwNX0/]
- Two reference letters/letters of recommendation. One letter should be from a current ENA member in good standing. Please don’t send these directly to the ENA Foundation.
- With the exception of the Elizabeth B. Moore Memorial Scholarship applicants, previous scholarship recipients are ineligible to reapply under the same category. However, qualified previous recipients may apply for the next category.
- Official transcripts from your school. These should bear the university seal. If you're in your first semester, consider submitting transcripts from prior institutions.
- Acceptance letter from the educational institution.
- Nursing License copy.
- BCEN certification card copy, if relevant.
- Military ID or Form DD-214 copy, if applicable.
- EMT badge/card copy, if applicable.
- Tuition link/page from the institution's catalog or website, e.g., [https://www.wgu.edu/financial-aid-tuition.html#close].
- Proof of payment: a receipt or canceled check proving payment for a minimum of 3 credit hours (aligned with your institution’s tuition).
- ENA members having served in the immediate past 3 years on the ENA Board of Directors, ENA Foundation Board of Trustees or ENA Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee are ineligible to apply.
- The current members of the ENA Board of Directors, ENA Foundation Board of Trustees, ENA Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee as well as individuals that have served in such positions in the immediate past 3 years and the spouses and children of all such individuals are ineligible to apply.

Note that BCEN (Board Certification for Emergency Nursing) is a primary donor to the ENA Foundation, offering scholarships across all academic levels. So, if you're eyeing a BCEN scholarship, you need a valid BCEN credential:
- CEN- Certified Emergency Nurse. This certification demonstrates that the nurse has specialized skills and knowledge related to general emergency nursing care.
- CPEN- Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse. This credential signifies expertise in the emergency care of pediatric patients.
- CFRN- Certified Flight Registered Nurse. This certification is for nurses who provide care during air and ground transport of critically ill or injured patients.
- CTRN- Certified Transport Registered Nurse. Similar to the CFRN but broader, encompassing care during both air and ground patient transports, not just focused on flight nursing.
- TCRN- Trauma Certified Registered Nurse. This credential signifies specialized knowledge and skills related to trauma care.
