Apply for ENA Foundation Scholarships- Non-RN

The ENA Foundation Scholarships are geared towards fostering excellence in emergency nursing. Annually, the foundation grants educational scholarships to support students in their academic pursuits.

Here, we will focus on ENA Foundation Scholarships for Non-RN students. Those who can apply for this scholarship include:

  • Future nurses who are working towards either an associate’s or baccalaureate degree in nursing.
  • Rescue Workers, which include:
    • Pre-hospital care providers
    • Firefighters
    • Police officers
  • Emergency Department Employees, such as:
    • Emergency medical technicians (EMTs)
    • Clerical coordinators
    • CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants)
    • Registration clerks
    • And other related roles.

If you fall into any of these categories, you’re eligible to apply!

Eligible Nursing Degrees:

  • Associate
  • BSN
  • Accelerated BSN

Scholarship Amount:

The amount is unspecified. The scholarship funds are specifically for tuition and related fees at your educational institution. The scholarship amount will be directly sent to the school listed on your application.

The selection of scholarship recipients is carried out by a committee, which assesses:

  • Clarity and content of your educational and career aspirations.
  • Professional involvement, like work activities.
  • Community engagement, including civic activities.
  • Leadership roles and involvement in ENA and/or other nursing associations.
  • The quality and depth of your reference letters.

ENA Foundation Scholarships- Non-RN Eligibility & Requirements:

  • You do NOT need to be a current member of ENA.
  • A minimum of a 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA).
  • You must be attending an ACEN or CCNE-accredited institution and must provide verification of the institution’s current accreditation e.g., [https://ena.smapply.io/protected/resource/eyJoZnJlIjogOTcxNjIyODUsICJ2cSI6IDEyNTIwNX0/]
  • Two reference letters/letters of recommendation. One letter should be from a current ENA member in good standing. If you are a current emergency department employee, you must also provide one letter of reference from your emergency department nurse director/manager stating your interest in emergency nursing. Please don’t send these directly to the ENA Foundation.
  • Previous Non-RN scholarship recipients are ineligible to reapply for a Non-RN scholarship.
  • Official transcripts from your school. These should bear the university seal. If you’re in your first semester, consider submitting transcripts from prior institutions.
  • Acceptance letter from the educational institution.
  • BCEN certification card copy, if relevant.
  • Military ID or Form DD-214 copy, if applicable.
  • EMT badge/card copy, if applicable.
  • Tuition link/page from the institution’s catalog or website, e.g., [https://www.wgu.edu/financial-aid-tuition.html#close].
  • Proof of payment: a receipt or canceled check proving payment for a minimum of 3 credit hours (aligned with your institution’s tuition).
  • ENA members having served in the immediate past 3 years on the ENA Board of Directors, ENA Foundation Board of Trustees or ENA Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee are ineligible to apply.
  • The current members of the ENA Board of Directors, ENA Foundation Board of Trustees, ENA Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee as well as individuals that have served in such positions in the immediate past 3 years and the spouses and children of all such individuals are ineligible to apply.
