Apply for Wisconsin Nurses Foundation Scholarship (Wisconsin)

The Wisconsin Nurses Foundation is offering financial support to RNs in Wisconsin who show promise in making significant contributions to the field of professional nursing within the state.

To be eligible, you should be enrolled in a BSN completion program, a graduate nursing degree, a master’s degree, or a Doctor in Nursing Practice that prepares you for roles other than an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or a Ph.D. in nursing.

Eligible Nursing Degrees:

  • BSN (specifically RN to BSN)
  • MSN (not APRN)
  • DNP (not APRN)
  • PhD

This scholarship could potentially support roles like nurse educators, nurse administrators, nursing researchers, nursing informatics specialists, or any other nursing roles that aren’t directly clinical specializations like those under the APRN umbrella.

Scholarship Amount:

It’s up to a $4,000 award.

Wisconsin Nurses Foundation Scholarship Eligibility & Requirements:

  • Must possess a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Must be a member of the Wisconsin Nurses Association.
  • Must provide verification of enrollment in an NLN or CCNE accredited school of nursing, specifically for:
    • BSN completion
    • Master’s in nursing degree (excluding APRN specializations)
    • PhD in nursing program
  • Enrollment is required for the academic year following the application.
  • Must demonstrate the potential to positively impact professional nursing in Wisconsin.
  • A clear financial need must be shown.
  • Complete the online application form.
  • Upload electronic copies of:
    • State of Wisconsin Certificate of Registration (State of WI RN License)
    • Evidence of WNA membership
    • Confirmation of acceptance/enrollment in a relevant nursing degree program (BSN completion, master’s, DNP, or PhD) at an NLN or CCNE-accredited School of Nursing.
    • Curriculum vitae or resume
  • Include a letter detailing:
    • Your professional goals
    • Plans to contribute to professional nursing care in Wisconsin
    • Progress in the current course of study (limit to one page)
  • Submit one letter of support addressing qualifications.
  • Provide a written description illustrating financial need.
  • Past winners of the NFW scholarship are ineligible for re-application.
